Sunita Chawdhary is a British-Indian author-illustrator, doctor, and mum of two, based in Yorkshire. She studied art and design at Central Saint Martins. Sunita draws on her experience of growing up in Asia, America and Europe to create vibrant, multicultural worlds filled with diverse characters and stories. She believes that children of all cultures and backgrounds should see themselves represented in print. Sunita was commended for the Faber Andlyn BAME (FAB) prize in 2019. She has illustrated the Together We Can Change the World series of picture books, focusing on love and community in all corners of the world. The first title, Pedro the Puerto Rican Parrot, was published by Little Steps in April 2021.
