Bookseller and Partnerships Co-ordinator

As the bookseller in our brand-new, Brixton based, inclusive bookshop you will work with our independent bookshop partner to stock the shop with inclusive children’s books.

You will be the first point of contact for pop-up event partners – co-ordinating and liaising with partners and bookshops to host inclusive events across the country. This will be a managed number of events, run with partners and the wider team.

Building relationships with customers and the community through your passion for books is key to the role. No matter what you’re doing, it needs to be done with our ethos of inclusivity in mind.

You will use your knowledge and confidence in children’s books to offer the best advice on titles and help readers find their next ideal book. You will choose from a broad range of existing titles and exciting new releases from all publishers to match readers tastes, while keeping eye-catching stock in store.

> Champion the importance of diversity and inclusivity in Children’s books
> Primary liaison with bookshops and partners across UK and Ireland to run pop-up events
Ordering and displaying stock, as well as working with publishing companies, representatives and stockists
> Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of current titles and changes in the market
> Making excellent product recommendations
> Helping with book events, including author / illustrator talks, signing sessions and reading groups

> A passion for children’s books, representation and inclusivity
> Strong commercial acumen
> Professional and fun, with outstanding customer service
> Broad knowledge of inclusive children’s books across all ages
> Understanding of our ethos and mission
> Excellent planning and organisational skills
> Previous bookselling/retail experience helpful but not necessary
> A healthy dose of can-do attitude

£22,500 per annum [London Living Wage]
